Alzheimer's Disease

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a primate-specific progressive neurodegenerative disease that occurs gradually and results in memory loss, deleterious behavioral and personality changes. The phenotype is related to the death of hippocampus and temporal gyrus neurons and the breakdown of the connections between them. Nerve growth factors (neurotrophins) decline decades before clinical symptoms with Aβ amyloidosis and neurofibrillary tangles in brain. NeuroQR develops human neurotrophins and anti-brain-inflammation compounds for early intervention of AD susceptible individuals. NeuroQR designs neurotrophin and therapeutic oligonucleotide adeno-associated virus for gene therapy and provides multiplex TaqMan and semiconductor sequencing primer sets to detect AD vulnerable genes.
