Floxed mouse line of cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2R) gene conditional knockout as an animal model for medicinal marijuana development.

The present invention relates to a genetically modified mouse wherein the mouse is able to produce a model of deletion of the Cnr2 gene in certain cell types. These cell types include dopaminergic, glutamatergic, GABAergic, cholinergic, astrocyte, oligodendrocyte, microglia and immune cell specific deletion of Cnr2 gene.

Brain cell type purification

Any brain region contains mixed cell types of excitatory and inhibitory neurons, inter neurons, ependymal cells, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, and microglia cells. NeuroQR provides highly specific fluorescence labeled antibodies to purify these cell types from less than 1 mg of fresh biopsy or frozen postmortem brain samples for molecular, genetic and epigenetic studies using fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS). Alzheimer's Disease

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a primate-specific progressive neurodegenerative disease that occurs gradually and results in memory loss, deleterious behavioral and personality changes. The phenotype is related to the death of hippocampus and temporal gyrus neurons and the breakdown of the connections between them. Nerve growth factors (neurotrophins) decline decades before clinical symptoms with Aβ amyloidosis and neurofibrillary tangles in brain. NeuroQR develops human neurotrophins and anti-brain-inflammation compounds for early intervention of AD susceptible individuals.
