GDNFOS and BDNFOS Neuropeptides


Based on a patented technology, funded by the NIH [Patented primate-specific de novo genes, glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor opposite strand (GDNFOS) and human-specific protein-coding and long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) genes of C20orf203 and BDNFOS], the goal of this work is to further develop preventive medicines for people with the early onset Alzheimer’s and Parkinson diseases with susceptible genesThe next step in this work is to further test the potential gene therapeutic effects of GDNFOS and BDNFOS peptide and lncRNA for prevention of the neurodegenarative diseasesAdditionally, this work can develop a diagnostic tool for Alzheimer’s disease patients using single cell profiling of Alzheimer’s disease gene markers.  This technology is able to monitor Alzheimer’s disease progress and the effectiveness of the preventive medicines.
